From Baltimore: From the Beltway take the I-70 West exit toward Frederick. In Frederick, take exit 53A to 270 South. Then take Exit 31B to Route 85 South toward Buckeystown. Continue on Rt. 85 through historic Buckeystown, about five miles. Just south of Buckeystown, approximately 200 yards past the intersection with Rt. 80, look for Bishop Claggett Lane, and the Bishop Claggett Center sign on your left. Turn left and continue down the long driveway to a large brick building, which is Powell Hall. The office is in the building to the right.
Friday Evening Alternative From Baltimore: Due to severe traffic congestion on I-70 near Frederick on Friday evenings, please consider this alternate route from Baltimore to avoid the traffic and enjoy a scenic ride: Take I-70 to Exit #68 for Rt. 27 South. Go approximately one half mile and turn right on Penn Shop Road. Drive about 3 miles to dead end on Rt.80. Turn right and drive on Rt. 80 straight through Kempstown and Urbana, about 15 miles until the road dead ends at Rt. 85. Turn left and drive 200 yards and look for the Claggett Center sign. Turn into our driveway and follow above directions.
From Annapolis and points southeast of Baltimore: Follow I-97 to Rt. 100 West (toward Ellicott City). Follow Rt. 100 to US Rt. 29 North. From US Rt. 29 North, take the exit to I-70 West, toward Frederick. Follow the directions above.
From Washington: Travel I-270 N to Frederick and take Exit 26 to Rt. 80W (a right turn at bottom of the ramp) toward Buckeystown. Follow Rt. 80 for approximately 4 miles and the road will dead end at Rt. 85. Turn left onto Rt. 85 for approximately 200 yards and look for the Claggett Center sign on your left. Turn into our driveway and follow the directions above.
From Western Maryland and Hagerstown: Travel I-70 E to I-270 S (toward Washington). About one mile past the split, take Exit 31B, Rt. 85 South toward Buckeystown. Drive approximately 5 miles south on Rt. 85, a short distance past Buckeystown, the Claggett Center sign will be on your left side. Turn left into our driveway and follow the directions above.
